Joachim Baldauf did art direction for many different magazines and clients. Since 1998 he works as independent photographer. From 1999 to 2002 his focus was an intensive collaboration with Wallpaper* magazine, London, with approx. 30 editorials and covers. He had various solo and group exhibitions in galleries and institutions. 
In 2004 he founded the Printkultur publishing company, since then he worked on continually publications of Vorn magazine and various books. Since 2009 he is tutor and advisor at different universities and academies. He got several awards like Art Directors Club Awards or Cover of the Year.
The pictures of Joachim Baldauf exude clarity and a dash of irony. They defy easy classification as fashion, lifestyle, or youth- culture photography, instead impressing with their singular visual language and distinctive aesthetic. Baldauf’s work exercises a major influence on the style of photography today.
