Lena-F. Naerger, Mirjam Sieger and Linda Moers – EINS EINS EINS
»It’s perfect: qved is our part-time refuge from Düsseldorf Carnival festivities!« The audience smiles at Mirjam Sieger’s witty opening of her talk about »EINS EINS EINS«, a platform to establish links, help gain overviews, and reveal the connections between magazines and their makers. In doing so, the »EINS EINS EINS« team doesn’t focus on topicality. The choice and chronology of the projects presented depends rather on the individual interests of the editors.
On a recently launched website, with a redesigned logo, the three designers introduce very different magazines. In order to not get lost in the journalistic jungle, the magazines are listed alphabetically and illustrated in pictures and videos. A profile includes the most important data concerning the respective edition. The visitors can customize filters to search the individual chapters, including the »History of the Magazine«, which compares historical and present day publications.
»EINS EINS EINS« is particularly interested in the makers of the magazines. The website features interviews and videos with designers, editors and chief editors, who offer insights into the production of the magazine, the archives of their publishing houses, and their working methods. It is interesting to note that »EINS EINS EINS« also looks at the readers: They can leaf through collections of the magazine that are offered in the »Magazinmobil«, a scalable exhibition that fits the size of any venue – be it on a folding ladder, a shelf, or in a presentation on a wall.
