Bart van Oosterhout is a publisher and editor in chief of a number of magazines related to city marketing in Amsterdam. Although he has a background in journalism (he studied journalism, film and English literature) he now focuses on the promotion of Amsterdam through storytelling and editorial design. He founded city magazine A-mag for international residents and visitors in 2012 and AMS for the business community in 2013. In 2011, together with Dutch art director Jaap Biemans, he undertook the restyling of Uitkrant, a city magazine with a history that goes back to the early Sixties. Bart leads a team of four designers and four editors which serves as the production backbone for a range of print publications. For each issue he recruits from a large pool of freelance photographers, illustrators and writers.
