Ricarda: Born and raised in Berlin, Ricarda Messner completed her degree in Communication at the Berlin University of Arts in 2011. In addition to her studies, she gained experience in various disciplines - from writing for a German daily newspaper, working at art galleries and magazines to PR work in the cultural field. The Berlin native felt it necessary to leave town for a while, broaden her horizon in New York to then re-discover her hometown upon her return in late 2011. This led to Ricarda's first and very personal project: Flaneur Magazine. She put together the team behind the magazine and took her first steps in the world of publishing. Soon it became clear to her what she enjoyed most: the creative process of turning ideas into actual endeavors. Ricarda will continue on this path and is currently in the process of starting her own publishing house for other print projects. She is also working on developing concept and branding ideas for others.
Michelle: Y-U-K-I-K-O is the creative studio of Johannes Conrad and Michelle Phillips. Y-U-K-I-K-O works within and around the field of graphic design, photography and film. Johannes studied fine art and Michelle studied graphic design at the University of Brighton, however they did not meet until later. After working in other creative agencies for clients such as BBC, Fallon and Universal they became restless in their work environments and were itching to stretch their creative limbs and vision. Johannes and Michelle gave it all up and moved to Berlin where they started their own studio in 2012 working as a creative direction / graphic design duo. In their first year, aside from branding small business in the art and fashion world they directed 5 films before being asked to join the Flaneur Magazine team as art directors and designers which has won awards and distinctions at TDC, ADC, D&AD and is currently nominated for best newcomer at the Lead Awards Germany.
