Stefan Stefanescu is professor for editorial design at the department of design at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. During this year’s qved, his students of communication design and illustration will present their award-winning magazines. “NICHT JETZT!” (lit.: “NOT NOW!”) is a monothematic magazine written by students who are also responsible for photography, illustration, design, editorial content and overseeing the printing process. Following issues on subjects such as “children”, “money”, “taste” and “sharing”, the fifth edition will be revolving around the notion of “more.” This edition will celebrate its release and be presented to the public for the very first time. Founded and run entirely by students, “LUKS” is the annual magazine on illustration by the design department. This year’s qved conference will witness the presentation of its third edition revolving around the idea of “taboo.” This notion will not only govern the magazine’s texts and illustrations but also influence its overall design and concept. Both projects are team efforts and will be presented by student representatives. During the qved conference selected issues will be on display at the MagTalents exhibition.
