Prof. Michael Stoll studied communications design at the Fachhochschule Konstanz. From 1991 to 2005, he worked as a freelance designer and infographic maker in Tübingen, and taught infographics at the »Haus Busch« journalism centre in Hagen, at the IFRA in Darmstadt and at the Akademie der Bayerischen Presse in Munich. Since 2005 he has been teaching infographics and media theory at the Hochschule Augsburg. He also teaches courses at the Université de Neuchâtel in Switzerland as well as at the Hochschule Darmstadt. Michael Stoll is the Educational Director (intl. affairs) at the Society for News Design in the USA as well as a member of the International Institute for Information Design in Vienna. In 2009 he was president of the jury for the »Malofiej 17« infographics competition at the University of Navarra (Spain).
